Suffolk Public Schools offers its employees two choices of health insurance plans through Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield. The HealthKeepers 80/20 HMO/POS with open access (i.e. no referral required for many services) and a High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP Lumenos) with Health Savings Account that Suffolk Public Schools matches employee savings up to $1,400 annually. Enrollment in any plan must be completed within 30 days of your official hire date, otherwise you will forfeit participation until the next plan year, for which open enrollment is held each Fall. Other qualifying status changes must also be applied for within 30 days of the change (see “Other Insurance Facts” below). The plan year begins on January 1st and ends on December 31st of each year.
