The Suffolk School Board has appointed Andre Skinner as the Coordinator of Career & Technical Education and Adult Education, and Johnetta Vaughan as Supervisor of Math Instruction.
Skinner has served Suffolk Public Schools for 12 years, starting as a special needs liaison, high school teacher, principal, and most recently as director of the College & Career Academy at Pruden. He also served as an assistant principal in Hampton Public Schools for six years. He is replacing Gail Bess, who is retiring. Skinner earned his bachelor’s degree from Old Dominion University and his master’s and certificate of advanced studies from Cambridge College.
Vaughan has served Suffolk Public Schools for 10 years as a teacher and division-wide math specialist, and most recently as assistant principal at John F. Kennedy Middle School. She also served as a math specialist and assistant principal in Portsmouth Public Schools for six years. Vaughan earned her bachelor’s degree from Elizabeth City State University and her master’s degrees from OId Dominion University and Regent University.
